If West ham fans had a choice between Allardyce and Bilic, the fat man would soon be sent packing!

Yes and Besiktas have only finished in the top two 27 times out of 50 years of the Turkish league...

Remember last season when people were saying that we could easily sack Sam and appoint a 'hungry young manager' like Solskjaer or Pepe Mel?
We'd probably be in the Championship now if we did.

That's the problem tho' whu. Managers that achieve things aren't two a penny.
I don't like SA but he does achieve and it is in his hands to renew his contract. You can point to the likes of Koeman at Southampton but he was a big chance to take. G&S cannot take chances in their position...

Well said Srirling, just about sums it up .How our fans can be happy to just slip down the table baffles me. we were 4th because we were the 4th best team in the premiership at the time. all this "we don't deserve to be here" is total bollocks!!

Love the way people are cunted off on a forum, for having an alternate opinion. That's what forums are and opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. Just argue and debate a fucking point. Allardyce Out for me from early doors. Sorry if that puts some off their roast dinner but I have always wanted a consistent level of decent football or at least an attempt to do this. Most of this seasons changes have been engineered by the Chairman and the manager has had instructions to change or fuck off. Quite why you'd pay a manager £60k a week needing to make these changes, is the strange one. Hence why I think we can do better on the managerial front.

Takashi Miike 6:09 "...buying players a manager may not have asked for is a recipe for disaster even if we may have gained out of the practice in the last window."
There have been loads of quotes from the club explaining that all transfer targets are agreed by SA with the board. Sullivan or his staff then make every effort to get them.
It is always the case that SA has the last word. That may be against his better judgement sometimes but that is often the way of these things when any employee (even a millionaire employee) is negotiating with a multi millionaire boss.
I doubt that SA would ever be churlish enough to blank a player just because he was a recommendation by his Chairman employer. He didn't blank Sakho who publicly said he thanked Sullivan when SA was not sure of taking him....
I think we should al calm down a bit and see how his team perform today with or without certain players....

I like the idea of having a Zarate type player offering a different dimiension to the rest of the strikers, a potential game changer
But, there is something about the actual Zarate that suggests he may not be the 'Zarate' type we need
Aside of his historic petulance, I never could work that deal out properly, he bought out his contract for a 7 figure sum to come to WH on a free and did so within some tight budgetary wage constraints, around FFP.
I said at the time it smells of a bloke who will be on his toes sharp - a stepping stone if a hit or a flounce if not
Cant help that this is a case of more questions than answers

My opinion of Allardyce has not changed from last year after cupping his ear to our fans, MORE than a minority of our fans made themselves heard that night and no apology has been made or attempted to have been made those fans. He's ridden the wave of success this season and recently taken all the plaudits for our league position. Sheringhams input I think has been overlooked for a lot of our attacking play in the coaching and the Zarate loan is very disappointing as we have seen brief glimpses of a classy player that could be used to our advantage from the bench if not as a starting XI player. I won't be disappointed if Allardyce doesn't renew a contract, a very stubborn and arrogant man.

Some thick cunts on here, so why I'm surprised god alone knows.
If Sam reckons he's not good enough for a starting berth, that's good enough for me.
Wish Zarate well at QPR, but if he thinks he should be getting a regular game simply because Sullivan wanted to sign him, QPR's probably the very best place for him...

Spot fucking on again that man!
Too many apologists for the Fat One. He's Mr Mediocre and we should NOT settle for that.
It would be interesting if we could force all the top 5 / 6 sides to explain in graphic detail why they definitely wouldn't replace their current manager with Sambo... (I mean trait for trait, not just "we don't need him cos we've got Jose" etc).
Because those are all the SAME reasons we should be looking past him going forwards.

brucies, i'll have a read of that later but im getting the jist of the article is to do with too much influence from directors of football like baldini at spurs, woodward at man utd, ayre at liverpool etc. maybe it's about something different but i'll read it later
on that subject stan collymore on the monday night show has said a few times that the foreign style director of football just doesn't work for certain clubs and managers, id have to agree with him. by all means have a general manager at a club overseeing transfer targets, budgets and salaries/contracts but buying players a manager may not have asked for is a recipe for disaster even if we may have gained out of the practice in the last window

no planning for the future either…ideal time to have poyet (ravel ??) around the likes of downing & song at the moment. nolan gets plenty of chances despite playing shit for months. why are the likes of jussi and r v t still hanging around the squad? no one from our famous academy to step up yet? sam is all about short term gain. he stumbled across valencia and sakho as a partnership but cannot help himself with his hoofing shit. the partnership that ripped the man city defence to shreds is no longer good enough to start against leicester, arsenal, chelsea...
the over achieving quote on the bbc site today is just another example of the level that sam truly aspires to. slipping into mid table is not acceptable and inevitable …why should it be?
our squad is not suddenly worse than liverpools, yids or southampton - it is just the ambitions and overall mindset of the manager that is negative. he likes to lower expectations.
you just cringe when the man speaks…he would be better of selling photo copiers in the midlands.

I don't think it's as simple as that. The relationship between manager / head coach and those I'm charge of recruitment is an interesting dynamic.
